Longreach

We have now been on the road for over a week and very happy with the van and car. The decision to buy a proven vehicle and van has been a good one.
To date we have been free camping with stops at Biloela and Alpha (parked near the railway station).

Having the solar panels and en-suite makes life very comfortable. The free camp at Longreach is crowded to say the least.
We are staying three nights giving us enough time to play tourist and visit the Stockman’s Hall Of Fame and have the car serviced (the car’s original home).
Also took the opportunity to catch Redclaw from the nearby river. Interestingly enough its illegal to release the small ones as they are not native to the region.

As it was Anzac Day we felt we should also attend the dawn service (picture above) in honour of Jeff (Fiona’s Dad) who served in the second world war as special services (prior to the SAS) in Papua New Guinea.
